Tips and Tricks for Leftover Christmas Hams

Smoked or glazed hams are classic dishes as part of the Christmas spread – but what to do when the guests are gone, and most of the meat is still on the bone?

Here’s some of our favourite ways to use up every last bit during the festive season:

  • Fry it up in lardons and add to our Brussels Sprouts (instead of bacon) for a Little Acre take on this side.

  • Assemble some delicious toasties for the family for a fuss-free Boxing Day lunch.

  • Add some to your breakfast! Get your hands on a carton of feather&PECK eggs and cook up some omelettes studded with smoked ham.

  • Slice thinly and add to any festive platters.

  • Pasta, quiche, soup and more! Throw in your leftover ham wherever you might use bacon or other cured pork products like guanciale.

If you’re looking to minimise waste from the outset, or just serving just one or two people, our whole baby hams might be right up your alley; they’re available Saturdays at the Willunga Farmers Market.

For easy additions to cheeseboards this summer, we also offer pre-sliced ham – limited amounts are available each week, so please send us a message via Instagram or email at info@littleacrefoods.com.au so we can put some aside for you.

We’d love to hear your tips and tricks for using your holiday leftovers – ham or otherwise – so please shoot us a DM or leave a comment on Facebook or Instagram and let us know!
